About Me
I’m Samantha Dean, a Learning & Development professional, instructional designer, and lifelong creator. With over seven years of experience spanning public education and corporate training, I’ve built a career on designing learning experiences that are innovative, impactful, and learner-focused.
I started my career as a public school math teacher, where I honed my ability to make complex ideas simple and keep learners engaged. I always say, if I could keep middle schoolers interested in math, I can engage anyone. I carry that same energy and adaptability into every learning experience I design. From there, I transitioned into the corporate world as a Continuing Education Administrator and Instructional Designer at the Commission on Rehabilitation Counselor Certification (CRCC). In this role, I’ve led the design of online courses, supported thousands of professionals in maintaining their certification, and even stepped into leadership during a major organizational transition.
Beyond the traditional learning space, I’m known for my ability to turn ideas into experiences. I’m an event planner at heart—give me a theme, and I’ll create a fully immersive environment complete with activities, challenges, and engaging design. From hosting an Olympic themed backyard competition to orchestrating a Mission Impossible style birthday bar crawl, I love crafting moments people talk about long after they’re over.
I also channel this creativity into my personal passions:
Designing T-shirts and DIY crafts
Nail artistry as a form of self-expression
Performing and supporting productions in musical theater
Traveling and exploring new cultures
I believe learning is a gift. My work focuses on making that gift meaningful and engaging so learners feel empowered to grow with confidence.
Thanks for stopping by my portfolio! I’d love to connect and explore how my skills in instructional design, event planning, and creative problem-solving can bring value to your team or project.
